Join us for desert vibes and good times as we explore the fascinating world of succulents and their pokey counterparts, cacti!
We’ll start the evening with an introduction to succulents that will cover everything you’ve ever wanted to know about your favorite desert dwellers. You’ll learn tons of fun facts, helpful care tips, propagation techniques, and more. We’ll even teach you how to identify different species and create your own succulent soil mix at home.
Once you’ve learned the secrets to making succulents thrive, you’ll have the chance to get your hands dirty and create your own succulent bowl. We’ll provide all the tools and materials you’ll need to make a custom succulent arrangement that will add life and beauty to your home. Cheers!

During this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll discuss the history of the terrarium and learn about the elements that make up these mini ecosystems. You’ll get to choose your own plants and we’ll guide you through step-by-step instructions on how to build your terrarium in a closed glass container.

Explore the ancient art of Botanical paper making!
Join local artist Payton Hurley as she guides us through the ancient art of paper making using the traditional western approach. Embellish your handmade paper with flower petals and transform banana leaf pulp into a work of art. Discover the therapeutic nature of this traditional craft as you relax and connect with the moment.
During this hands-on, beginner friendly workshop, we will adorn our paper with botanicals and herbs to create a sort of talisman that holds our own intuitive magic in alignment with the season. The botanical elements for this workshop are chosen based on their spiritual meaning and symbolism. With Mabon, or the Autumn Equinox, falling on September 22nd, this is a perfect time to welcome the harvest and give thanks for the abundance of the Earth.
Please note: handmade paper takes a week to dry and finish. You will be able to pick your paper up at Wild Roots once it is ready.

Planters & Prosecco

Learn how to make your own Customized ceramic planter!
In this class, you will learn how to form a 4" planter and saucer out of pre-rolled clay slabs. Then we’ll customize our planters with colors, textures, stencil designs, stamps, and alphabet pasta letters. Planters will be fired, glazed and ready for pick up the following Thursday, September 25 at Atelier St. Pete (map).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Kayla Harbeitner received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art and Design and was an apprentice at Charlie Parker Pottery for four years. She brings traditional art into the craft by creating decorative and functional work with etching and painting. In the Fall of 2022, Kayla founded Atelier St. Pete, creating a local pottery studio and gallery in northern St. Pete.
